FOSSIL-FREE CONSTRUCTION SITES: SBB RELIES ON ELECTRIFICATION WITH THE KTEG ZE85
Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) has set itself the ambitious goal of reducing its fossil emissions to almost zero by 2040. This applies not only to the company's own operations, but also to the emissions generated by purchased services and products.
The all-electric ZE85 compact excavator from KTEG, the renowned manufacturer of special-purpose construction machines, is proving a big hit in the Kiesel rental park. The compatible mobile charging infrastructure, the KTEG Powertree, is also available for rental.
On 11 June 2021, the KMC1200S went into operation as the largest demolition excavator in Spain. The machine was sold through the Spanish Hitachi dealer Hispano Japonesa de Maquinaria (HJM). In the service of the Basque demolition company, Lezama Demoliciones, the KMC is assisting with demolition work at the former Anllares coal-fired power plant.

Against the impressive backdrop of the former Steag power plant in Lünen, the KTEG MultiCarrier 1600S was handed over to its new owners on 17 February. In the presence of senior managers from the participating companies – Kiesel, KTEG, as well as the Hagedorn Group – the 1600S was commissioned as the largest vehicle of its kind to date.
